Artist Jim Baker
JIM BAKER, is in the great tradition of American regional Art, capturing the color, lighht, and motion of the Southwest in his vivid human and animal figures, along with moody landscapes. After a  succsesful career as Art  Director of a television station in Amarillo, Texas, during which time he served on the  advisory committee of Commercial Art and Advertising Technology for Texas State Technical Institute, Baker moved to Oklahoma, where he has been capturing the unique visual  character of the West and its people in paintings with rich  textural  surfaces and dynamic, spontaneous brushwork. The winner of over 33 First Place, and Best- of-, Show awards, His work has been  presented in numerous museums and featured on the cover of  a national  magazine.
